The Dallas Stars have acquired veteran defenseman Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a second-round pick in 2027 and a fourth-round pick in 2029, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun and Darren Dreger.
The Canucks will also retain 50 percent of Myers' contract, now costing the Stars just $1.5 million against the salary cap for the rest of this season and for the 2026-27 season. Myers has skated in 57 games this season, scoring one goal, eight points, and blocking 91 shots while averaging 20:13 of ice time.
Myers has sat out the Canucks' last three games as he pondered waiving his no-trade clause for a deal between the Canucks and the Detroit Red Wings. Ultimately, he felt more comfortable waiving his rights for the Stars.

Myers will now join a Stars team that is loaded both offensively and defensively. The Stars have gone to the Western Conference finals in consecutive seasons, losing to the Edmonton Oilers each time. They are currently in the midst of a heated race for the top spot in the Central Division with the Colorado Avalanche and the Minnesota Wild. The Stars sit in second place, three points ahead of the Wild but six points back of the Avalanche.
The Stars are dealing with several injuries to forwards at the moment, but Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz, and Radek Faska are all expected to return prior to the playoffs. Tyler Seguin, however, has been placed on the season-ending long-term injury reserve.
With the addition of Myers, the Stars are loaded on the blueline, with a top six featuring Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell, Thomas Harley, Nils Lundqvist, and Lian Bichsel.
As for the Canucks, they offload another veteran who isn't part of their rebuild. While Myers had served the Canucks well, it was in the best interests of both parties to part ways.
The Canucks now add a pair of draft selections to the boatload of picks they already own. They now own four first-round picks in the next three drafts, five second-round picks, and two third-round picks. Those numbers are expected to increase as they could move multiple players prior to Friday's trade deadline.
