Puka Nacua injury update from Rams leaves WR's Week 3 status in doubt

The Los Angeles Rams are back on the practice field on Wednesday and wide receiver Puka Nacua is not joining them.

According to ESPN's Sarah Barshop, Nacua, who is dealing with a hip/groin injury, will not take part in practice with the Rams during their first session of the week.

The Rams were only taking part in a jog-through, Barshop notes, but Nacua still isn't participating despite the toned-down session.

"The Rams are not practicing today (they’re just having a jog-through) and Puka Nacua will not participate. McVay said he’s not sure whether Nacua will play in Week 3 but that the team is not concerned about it being a long-term injury for the WR," Barshop wrote.

This now puts Nacua's status for Week 3 in doubt, although he'll have two more practices to get right before Sunday's matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Nacua popped up on the injury report on Friday of last week. He was listed with a hip injury, but head coach Sean McVay later described the issue as groin soreness.

After not practicing on Friday and Saturday, Nacua was given the questionable tag before ultimately being ruled out.

The Rams went on to handle the New York Giants, anyway, with Davante Adams filling the void left by Nacua with an eight-catch, 195-yard, two-touchdown performance.

The Rams also saw tight end Terrance Ferguson step up with six catches for 54 yards and a touchdown.
