While fans await the premiere of the Stranger Things Season 5 Finale, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch claimed that a fellow star was originally cast as Vecna. She further explained why the makers went with someone else.
With character work arguably second to none, The Man is among the best heels in the Stamford-based promotion. She is currently feuding with Maxxine Dupri, the 28-year-old star who defeated her to become the new WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion last month. Lynch has been mocking the Alpha Academy member online since they started feuding.
Staying true to her heel persona, Becky Lynch continued to fire shots at her rival. In a recent post on Instagram Threads, the 38-year-old noted that she heard Maxxine Dupri was originally cast as the popular TV series Stranger Things' antagonist Vecna.
Lynch added that the current WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion had to be replaced as she was too "frightening" and "grotesque." The veteran referred to herself as Becky the Brave and claimed that she could not wait to get rid of the evil in the form of Dupri.
"STRANGER THINGS and WWE!!! A collaboration no one thought could happen. I hear MAXXINE was originally cast as VECNA but was TOO FRIGHTENING and GROTESQUE!! They clearly went with someone less scary. CAN’T WAIT to rid the world of THIS EVIL! - BECKY THE BRAVE," wrote Lynch.

WWE is set for a massive crossover with Stranger Things on the January 5 edition of Monday Night RAW.
The Stamford-based promotion has a stacked lineup for the show with multiple title matches. In one of the highly anticipated matches, Becky Lynch will challenge Maxxine Dupri for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship.
Elsewhere on the card, CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Vision's Bron Breakker. Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY will also join forces to challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
It will be interesting to see how many titles change hands on the first RAW of 2026.
