Former World No. 1 and two-time Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza shared a major update this Christmas with husband Arthur Borges. While wishing everyone "Merry Christmas," they also revealed that a special delivery is on the way.

On Thursday, Muguruza posted two photos, involving Broges and their pet bulldog. Flaunting her blue gown and growing belly, the 32-year old posed with Borges, who was wearing a maroon shirt over a black shirt. Muguruza was also carrying their bulldog in their hands as they looked into each other's eyes.

"Merry Christmas everyone 🎄 The best is yet to come 🥂🤰🎁" she captioned the post.

Earlier in September, Garbine Muguruza announced that she is pregnant and is expecting her first child with Arthur Borges. She posed a poolside photo on Instagram, showing her belly, and in a way announcing her pregnancy. Upon sharing the news, several fellow tennis players, including Conchita Martínez, Carla Suárez, and Aryna Sabalenka, congratulated the couple.

Garbine Muguruza announces retirement before marrying Arthur Borges

Garbine Muguruza made a bold call on her professional career in April last year. She decided to retire from professional tennis at the age of just 31.

"The time has come to say goodbye. It has been a long and beautiful career, but it's time to open a new chapter," she said at the Cibeles Palace in Madrid.

Just months later, she tied the knot with Arthur Borges, with whom she first met in 2021 during the US Open.

"It's a total movie. I knew I would marry him even before he asked me. When we met, it was love at first sight and we realized very quickly that we were an ideal couple," Muguruza said about her wedding to Hola.com.

During the 2021 US Open, Borges made the first move by approaching Muguruza for a photo. After dating for three years, they tied the knot on October 5, 2024, in a ceremony in Marbella, Spain.

Their wedding took place in the Malaga region at the La Concepción estate. It was a 19th-century iron foundry, which was now turned into a natural beauty with over 10,000 square meters of gardens having palm trees, tropical plants, and a centuries-old American walnut tree.

Muguruza's husband, Arthur Borges, is a businessman and a model.
