Philadelphia Eagles urged to trade quarterback before start of 2026 NFL season

The Philadelphia Eagles just traded away star wide receiver A.J. Brown. Now they're being urged to trade a quarterback prior to the onset of the upcoming 2026 NFL season. 

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report recently listed one player that every team should try to trade before the start of the season, and for the Eagles the pick was backup quarterback Tanner McKee.

The Eagles entertained the idea of moving McKee prior to the NFL Draft, but nothing ever came to fruition, potentially because Philadelphia's asking price was too high for such an unproven player.

Moton encouraged the Eagles to drop their asking price and get a deal done while they could still recoup some value for McKee. 

"... Philadelphia acquired Andy Dalton from the Carolina Panthers and selected Cole Payton in the fifth round of this year's draft. If the Eagles want to develop the rookie signal-caller behind Jalen Hurts and Dalton, they should drop their asking price for McKee to make a deal," Moton wrote. 

"Philadelphia may be able to get a fifth- or sixth-round pick for McKee, which is more than reasonable with his small-sample resume."
