The teams are locked in, and now all there's left to do is play. The San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks will go head-to-head in the league's most important series — the NBA Finals.
The Spurs are returning to the championship stage for the first time since 2014, when the franchise hung its last banner. With their backs against the wall, Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio to a Game 7 win over the defending champion Thunder, ending OKC's attempt at back-to-back titles.
Meanwhile, the Knicks blew through the Eastern Conference finals, sweeping the Cavaliers. Jalen Brunson & Co. have won 11 consecutive games by an average of 23.8 points as they head into their first Finals in 27 years. Ironically enough, it was Tim Duncan and the Spurs who beat New York for the title back in 1999.
