Philadelphia Eagles legend has strong opinion after Bills win

The Philadelphia Eagles have created a Victory Monday to start the week, but there isn’t much celebrating going on in the City of Brotherly Love.

A win over a tough Buffalo Bills team with a ticket already punched to the playoffs isn’t enough to keep the sports market happy. The Eagles struggled on the offensive end of the ball on Monday, and they have a franchise legend calling for the team to play key players in next week’s outing against the Washington Commanders.

Seth Joyner Has Words for the Eagles

“They should play because they stunk yesterday, especially on the offensive side of the ball,” Joyner said on WIP.

“Every one of them damn offensive linemen needs to play all 60 freaking minutes of that game on Sunday and try to figure out how to finish plays and how to finish blocks. How to not get head-faked and all of these other things. You’ve been playing football your entire life, and you get head-faked at the line of scrimmage? I'm just sick and tired of seeing it, because every single play, there’s a guy in the backfield

The Eagles played solid enough in the first half on both sides of the field to pitch a 13-0 shutout. The defense continued to hold up its end of the bargain in the second half, but the offense couldn’t get anything going.

The result? The Eagles nearly dropped the ball. A comeback victory was in the works for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, but luck was on Philadelphia’s side in the end. A failed two-point conversion helped the Eagles seal the deal and collect their 11th win. Now, they have an important decision to make next Sunday.

To Play the Starters or Not

Joyner raises a valid point. Reps are important, especially when the system still isn’t clicking.

However, staying healthy before a guaranteed playoff run has to be a priority for the Eagles. Some members of the Eagles’ offensive line have simply been struggling, but others have underlying issues affecting their play. No matter what, the decision to play starters or not will be a gamble.

Nick Sirianni and the Eagles have time to figure it out. The chances of the Eagles giving key starters a full game are unlikely, but a quarter or two shouldn’t be out of the question. Soon enough, the team will have to make its decision and live with it as they prepare for the final divisional matchup of the year.
