The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center on Thursday for their New Year's Day battle. As the sixth-best club in the Eastern Conference with a 17-14 record, the 76ers have done well for themselves. The Mavericks, meanwhile, have struggled in the 2025-26 NBA season, with a 12-22 record in the Western Conference.

It will be the second and last meeting for the 76ers and the Mavericks. Since they are in opposite conferences, both teams won't play each other as much. During their first matchup, Philadelphia had a 121-114 win over Dallas. It was star guard Tyrese Maxey who took over the game with his 38-point performance.

Rookie guard VJ Edgecombe added 26 points, while Dominick Barlow had his season-high of 21 points.
