Phil Mickelson's golfing skills have never failed to get the attention of golf fans. When it comes to sharing his political views on X, the golfer often comes to the spotlight following his repeated attacks on the Democrats.
For those who are aware, the six-time major champ has always maintained a firm stance against Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California. Recently, he even issued a full-fledged allegation, accusing the politician of committing treason by violating the US Oil Sanction policies. Phil Mickelson also challenged Newsom for a town hall debate to discuss the ongoing issue between Sable Offshore Corporation after Gavin criticised the Trump administration's energy policies.
Today, the LIV golfer has set his sights on Democratic Senator Scott Weiner. Yesterday, Weiner slammed Exxon Mobil after the multinational oil and gas corporation reportedly did not want to follow his climate law regarding carbon emissions. Today, the veteran pro challenged the US Senator for a town hall debate, citing a report on the effect of Weiner's policies. Phil Mickelson wrote on X:
"Since the Governor isn’t up for a town hall discussion maybe you would be? Although what your saying sounds so amazing and great😇 read this article on the catastrophe and national security you’ve created."Soon after he issued an open challenge to Weiner, Phil Mickelson claimed in a follow-up tweet that 65% of California's oil comes from imports, instead of local pipelines and refineries. According to Mickelson, these practices have taken a toll on the total carbon emissions in the environment. Apart from that, Lefty slammed Democratic Senator Weiner over his social media posts. In a second follow-up tweet, he once again urged for a debate in a "town hall setting".
"Are you serious?" - When Phil Mickelson slammed Gavin Newsom over the latter's claims regarding aviation fuel sustainability
On October 29, the Governor of California took it to X to declare how the State of California has made history in terms of sustainable aviation fuel. The Democrat politician further labeled California as the "Golden State" and claimed that the use of "dirty diesel" has gone down by 80%.
These claims did not sit right with Phil Mickelson, as the veteran pro once again slammed Newsom for using Chinese and Russian tankers to import oil. As per Mickelson's report, the golfer found the country at risk following the state of Valero Benicia oil refinery. He wrote:
"...Your shipping in dirtier oil using Chinese and Russian tankers, no less putting our entire country at risk because we can’t supply 2 dozen military bases relying upon CA for fuel specifically from Valero Benicia which is about to close 🤦♂️"Take a look at the X post by the California native:

He further cited the report by Stan Ellis, Michael Mische, and Michael Ariza that criticizes the fuel and energy policies of California under Newsom's tenure.
