Drafted by the New York Mets in 2016, Pete Alonso made his big league debut in 2019. As he continued gaining experience and growing in confidence, he went on to establish himself as one of the team's most important players.
After a superb 2025 season, Alonso opted out of the remainder of his deal to try his luck at securing an improved offer as a free agent. The Mets were reportedly interested in re-signing the infielder, but it was ultimately the Baltimore Orioles that won the race for the slugger's signature, signing him to a five-year, $155 million contract.
Speaking to analyst Todd Frazier on Monday's episode of Foul Territory, Alonso described how he felt after parting ways with the Mets, where he has spent the entirety of his big league career so far.
