Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed whether his players passed his weight test after the Christmas break. He said that they all were "perfect", adding that he was the only one "overweight".

Ahead of their Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest at City Ground on Saturday, December 27, Guardiola set a challenge for his players. He said that since they needed to maintain their weight during the Christmas break, otherwise, they would be left in Manchester for the game.

Ahead of the game on Saturday, the Spaniard was asked if the Manchester City players passed the weight test. He told TNT Sports:

"Only the manager is overweight. The rest are perfect."

The host said:

"That's how should be."

The former Barcelona manager responded:

"That should be, right."

In his pre-match press conference, Guardiola had said:

"Every player makes a weight. They come back on the 25th, and I will be there controlling how many kilos come up, [to see if] they come fatty. The moment they arrive after three days, I want to see how they come back. They can eat, but I want to control them." "I have to make a selection for 27 (December) against Nottingham Forest. Imagine one player, and now he’s perfect, but he will arrive with three kilos more. He will (stay) in Manchester. He will not travel to Nottingham Forest," he added.

The Spaniard picked the same starting XI for Manchester City against Nottingham Forest as their 3-0 win over West Ham United last time out.

Sean Dyche shared his thoughts on Pep Guardiola's weight challenge for Manchester City players

Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche was asked about Pep Guardiola's comments about his players needing to watch their weight during the Christmas break. He had a different approach to the Spaniard and joked (h/t BBC):

"Is Pep weighing himself, do you think? As I always say to the players, on your passport it says professional footballer. They're not just footballers. Everyone wants to be a footballer but what about the professional side of it? The players just need to use a bit of common sense. I don't mind them having a Christmas dinner, why not?"

Notably, Manchester City come into the clash against Nottingham Forest on the back of seven wins across competitions. They are second in the Premier League standings, two points behind leaders Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, are 17th, five points above the relegation zone, and have six wins and three defeats in their last six games.
