Tamil Thalaivas' raider Pawan Sehrawat revealed which star Indian cricketer he looked up to for motivation post Pro Kabaddi 2025. Pawan named all-rounder Hardik Pandya and expressed how he drew inspiration from him.
During a conversation on Sunil Taneja's YouTube channel, Pawan Sehrawat reflected that he found ways or people to motivate himself. He narrated how he motivated himself by Hardik Pandya's example when he underwent surgery.
"I somehow find some support to motivate myself. Like once when my surgery happened, at that time I had found Hardik Pandya when I got surgery. Hardik Pandya had back injury. And he was taken on a stretcher. He was taken on a stretcher from the ground itself. So that I remember, that comes to my mind. I think many times when at that time that what comeback the guy made and as soon as he came, he went to Gujarat's team in IPL, made Gujarat win, then played for India, what performance he did. So at that time I made my comeback like that from injury," he said.Hardik was under rehabilitation before the start of the IPL 2022 season. He had not played professional cricket since the 2021 T20 World Cup. However, he regained his fitness and joined the Gujarat Titans (GT).
The star all-rounder even captained Gujarat to their maiden IPL title that season. They beat the Rajashan Royals (RR) by seven wickets in the final. In the final, he led from the front, scoring 34 runs with the bat and returning figures of 3/17 with the ball.
Pawan Sehrawat's controversial exit from Tamil Thalaivas in Pro Kabaddi 2025
Pawan Sehrawat played just three matches in Pro Kabaddi 2025. He was controversially sent back home by the Tamil Thalaivas, citing disciplinary issues. However, the star raider denied the allegations and revealed the petty reasons that were given to him for his exit.
"The reasons given for sending me home were very petty and I was shocked seeing them like you are late by five minutes for a shoot, late by ten minutes for a captain shoot. I have an idea as a player when to go and how to go so there is no question on being late. These things were manipulated. These were the official reasons given to me. They just polished the rule and used it and sent me home," he said.Pawan Sehrawat is among the top raiders in Pro Kabaddi history. So far, he has featured in 142 matches. He has bagged 1340 raid points at an average of 9.43 with 40 Super Raids and 70 Super 10s.
