The Indiana Pacers' injury outlook for the 2025–2026 NBA season is not good. For a team that was just in the Finals, the Pacers haven't had the best part. On top of that, the team suffered a blow with Obi Toppin's recent injury. According to reports, Toppin will miss a significant amount of time.

NBA insider Marc Stein reported on Friday that head coach Rick Carlisle confirmed that Toppin won't play tonight against the Atlanta Hawks. This will be the second-straight game that the athletic forward will miss. On Wednesday, he missed the 107-105 defeat that the Indiana team had against the Dallas Mavericks.

According to Carlisle, Toppin will be required to undergo foot surgery. He is anticipated to return to the season in February, meaning he will miss a significant portion of it.

League insider Michael Scotto added more details to Toppin's case. According to Scotto, the forward will have his surgery on Monday to replace a screw. He was reportedly diagnosed with "a partial stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot."

Indiana Pacers forward Obi Toppin will have surgery Monday to place a screw in his foot, coach Rick Carlisle told reporters. Carlisle hinted the next update will be in 3 months. Toppin was diagnosed with a partial stress fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot per team

Aside from Toppin, the team is also missing Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin. The star point guard isn't expected to play a game this season after suffering an Achilles tendon tear in the 2025 NBA Finals. Mathurin, on the other hand, remains out with a toe sprain.

The injuries have piled up for Indiana, which hasn't helped their 0-4 start to the season. After their contest against the Hawks, the team will face the Golden State Warriors, the second bout of its four-game home stretch.

Players to watch out for amid the Pacers' injury woes

The Pacers' injury woes have not been beneficial this season. With the amount of players who won't suit up, there are a few players fans need to watch out for.

One player who needs extra attention is Pascal Siakam. He's been healthy to start the year and is having one of his best seasons. Siakam is averaging 26.3 points, 11 rebounds and 5.3 assists in the first four games. This is the only season where the three-time All-Star has averaged more than 25 points.

The other player that fans should be on the lookout for is Tony Bradley. Without Toppin, there's a bigger need for another frontcourt player to step up. In the first four games, Bradley has averaged 6.3 points and 3.3 rebounds. With another player down, there's a chance for him to do more on the floor.

The Pacers' injury problems are something that the team should address early in the season.
