Older woman threatens to punch influencer during ‘fit check’ video

A viral confrontation between a young social media creator and an older passerby has sparked a heated debate about filming in public.

In the clip, a young woman sets up her phone on a city footpath at night, steps back a bit, and begins filming an outfit-of-the-day “fit check” while traffic drives past behind her.

She appears to be keeping to her own space on the relatively empty street when an older woman walks past and suddenly calls out, “Give it a break, girls,” in a dry tone.

The creator and her friend instantly snap back with “Shut the f–k up,” prompting the passer-by to fire the same phrase straight back as the exchange escalates.

The older woman then threatens, “I will lay you out so f–king fast,” moving closer as the influencer points out, “You’re like 60 years old.”

The passer-by replies, “I will still lay you out,” and walks towards the pair, raising her fist as if to punch.

The younger woman asks, “What’s your problem?” and warns she will “kick” the stranger if she keeps being aggressive, before calling her an “old lady.”

The woman then loses it, shouting, “I will f–ing punch you right in the f–ing face,” before walking away yelling, “Don’t call me an old lady, you f—-ing c—s.”

After the video was shared widely online, commenters ultimately defended the influencer, despite calling her “fit check” cringey, saying she was just minding her own business.

One commenter pointed out the street was “pretty empty,” and the women weren’t blocking anyone’s path, saying the older passer-by just “felt compelled to criticise them” for no reason.

Another wrote that the woman was “just doing her thing and not in anyone’s way, even if it is a bit cringe,” adding that “the old lady is the problem here, not her.”

Others said the influencer would have been justified in defending herself had the stranger followed through on the threat to punch her.

Others called it “bizarre” how the older woman went from a snarky remark to a near-physical confrontation, describing her behaviour as “antagonistic and aggressive.”

The conversation reflects a deeper generational gap over social media etiquette in public places.

One commenter admitted they were “not a fan of people filming themselves like this,” but said trying to hit someone because you were insulted “off camera” was “obscene.”

Meanwhile, some declared: “ESH,” which is internet slang for “everyone sucks here.”
