Notre Dame, Richmond lacrosse don't have anyone to broadcast or stream their 1v2 clash

Notre Dame and Richmond are on a collision course.

Barring a surprise upset, they'll meet on April 4 for a regular season men's lacrosse matchup pitting the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country against one another. And as of right now, if you aren't at the game, you won't be able to watch it.

Seriously -- a couple weeks in advance, no one has picked up the broadcast of the game. Not even a stream.

It's making the rounds on social media as something that has serious lacrosse fans in quite a bit of confusion.

As of now, NO ONE has picked up the No. 1 Notre Dame vs. No. 2 Richmond matchup in Evanston...

Because it's at Northwestern (who uses Big Ten Network and neither ND/Richmond are Big Ten programs) no broadcaster/streaming service has yet to pick this neutral-site game up. https://t.co/TNcTFk2Mj4

Why is the game at Northwestern in the first place? That's a good first question.

It's "Lacrosse Day in Chicago," and there won't be a bigger game in the country that day than the one happening between the Fighting Irish and Spiders.

As Kevin Brown notes in his post on X shown above, Northwestern home games are broadcast by Big Ten Network, which can't broadcast this game, because neither team is in the Big Ten.

Seems like someone would've thought of that in advance, but it didn't happen, and now it looks worse with these teams at 1-2 in the rankings.

Because of the outcry, there's a decent chance this changes by then, but it's not a given.

The sport certainly deserves the game to be broadcast. That's how you really grow lacrosse.

Stay tuned here, because one way or the other, there'll be plenty more to come out about this one.
