Nick Nurse provides an injury update on Joel Embiid after All-Star break

NBA All-Star weekend was pretty good to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Rookie sensation V.J. Edgecombe was named MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge after leading his squad to a victory in the championship game and Tyrese Maxey also helped lead his team to victory in the All-Star game after starting in the exhibition for the first time in his career.

Edgecombe, Maxey and the rest of the Sixers returned to the practice floor on Wednesday, which means we got a fresh update on star center Joel Embiid from head coach Nick Nurse.

Embiid missed Philadelphia’s last two games before the break after experiencing some knee soreness.

On the season, Embiid has played in 31 games for the Sixers and averaged 26.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per performance.

“He was out there [at practice], looked pretty good,” Nurse said of Embiid. “He’s got a meeting I think here shortly with the doctors this afternoon, so we’ll know a little bit more about where he is, but he was out there a little bit today. [He] looked pretty good.”

This story will be updated.
