The Denver Broncos are 6-2 and atop the AFC West with one week to go until the trade deadline. A game ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, the Broncos are in position to win the division if they can maintain this pace.
A huge reason for the success this season has been the defense, and Bo Nix's development and wild comeback wins over the NFC East. The month of October has treated the Broncos well, as they're undefeated this month. But the defense and Nix aren't the only reasons for the 4-0 record.
As the National Football League announced, Broncos' kicker Will Lutz was the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October. Lutz earned his third Player of the Month honor in his decade-long NFL career with a perfect October for Denver.
Broncos' Will Lutz named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for October
Lutz helped the Broncos go undefeated in October, as he made all of his kicks during the second month of the NFL season. He hit all six of his field goals and all nine of his extra point attempts.
He knocked through all six of his field goals and nine of his extra points in the Broncos' 4-0 October. While it might not be the volume of other kickers, Lutz's performance featured two game-winning kicks, including a 39-yarder to cement the Broncos' wild comeback win over the New York Giants.
Lutz began October with a two-field goal performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, which featured a 55-yarder to open the scoring and a 36-yarder that significantly increased the Broncos' chance to win.

Against the New York Jets, Lutz hit a 57-yarder along with a 27-yarder to win the game late in the fourth quarter. Finally, in the 44-24 blowout win over the Cowboys, Lutz hit a 44-yarder along with all five of his extra points to round out his October.
With Denver going 4-0 and maintaining their top spot in the AFC West, Lutz earned the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month honor for his perfect October.
Lutz and the Broncos will look to continue their strong 2025 season in November, as they open the month with a matchup against the Houston Texans before facing the Las Vegas Raiders, Chiefs, and Washington Commanders in the third month of the year.
