The WNBA is in the offseason right now which means that it's time for Unrivaled to make its anticipated return. Judging by the 3x3 league's inaugural season's schedule, the fans can expect the 2026 Unrivaled season to tip off in January.

However, the 3x3 league might find it a little bit harder to pull in the fans at the start of their second season. On Thursday, Underdog WNBA revealed the names of all 48 players participating in the smaller-format league on its X account. Caitlin Clark, A'ja Wilson, and Angel Reese, who played in the inaugural season, were the three big names missing from the roster.

The fans swarmed the post's comment section with their opinions on Unrivaled missing out on some of the WNBA's biggest players.

"No CC Aja or Angel them ratings about to be BAD," one fan said.

"If those are all the signings that’s underwhelming," another fan said. "No Caitlin no Aja they are busy same as usual , I understand 💪🤘🤚" another fan said. "no angel or dijonai i’m f****** sickkkkk," another fan said.

While most fans were unimpressed with the roster reveal, some praised the league for returning.

"This ought to be fun to watch after all!" one fan said. "Different mix this year, but it’s still going to be some fantastic hoops.. hopefully in that list are some new Portland Fire players . 🌹🔥🏀" another fan said.

Unrivaled's second seaosn will be a true test for the 3x3 league

Unrivaled's second season will be a tough test for the budding 3x3 basketball league. Not only are they missing the three most popular players from the WNBA, but they have also skipped out on other fan favorites like DiJonai Carrington, Sophie Cunningham, and Lexie Hull.

Carrington is unable to play during the offseason as she continues to recover from a foot injury. The reason behind Cunningham and Hull's absence is still unclear. The 3x3 basketball league received great praise in its inaugural season. They have pulled in many sponsors following their first season.

They have also expanded the teams in the league. Two new teams, Breeze BC and Hive BC, will be joining the competition in the next season. While Collier and Stewart's league may have failed to attract the interest of WNBA's big three, they surely have the league's other superstars.

WNBA's Rookie of the Year, Paige Bueckers, will be playing in the 3x3 basketball league in its second season. Aliyah Boston, Sonia Citron, and Veronica Burton are some other notable names from the 48-player roster.

The WNBA currently has a lockout looming over its head. The league has not yet reached an agreement with the demands of the WNBPA. So Unrivaled's second season might be a tough test for them, but it is also a big opportunity for them to grow and attract more fans to their product.
