The Baltimore Orioles are coming into the offseason with plenty of questions. One question they have answered, though, is who will be managing their club moving forward.
The club announced a few days ago that they have hired Craig Albernaz as their newest skipper. He had spent the last two seasons serving as the Cleveland Guardians' bench coach.
Now that the managerial search is over, the front office can return its attention to how to become a better team in 2026. Baltimore has a few holes they will need to address if they have any hopes of putting to bed this rough 2025 season.
Orioles urged to re-sign former AL wins leader despite injury concerns
The starting rotation will be one that the front office will likely focus on. Injuries played a big part in their downfall, like Grayson Rodriguez missing the year with shoulder discomfort and a right lat strain.
Zach Eflin was another pitcher who missed quite a few games as he went to the IL three separate times this past season. However, Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller believes he is the one player that Baltimore needs to consider re-signing.
"He's only 31, though, and he was pretty darn good for them down the stretch in 2024. Might be able to bring him back at a discounted rate and have him be a big part of a bounce-back season."
Miller believes the 2023 AL wins leader can put this past season behind him and be a key contributor in 2026, but it will cost them. Eflin will become a free agent after the season concludes and could draw interest from multiple other teams despite his numerous injuries in 2025.
