New York Giants' little-known offensive lineman dubbed most underappreciated player

7 hours ago 1

Despite the hefty investments the New York Giants have made along their offensive line in recent years, the performance of the starting five has been unsteady at best.

As it currently stands, the Giants' projected starting O-line is: Andrew Thomas (left tackle), Jon Runyan (left guard), John Michael Schmitz (center), Greg Van Routen (right guard), and Jermaine Eluemunor (right tackle).

It's a solid group, no doubt. With Thomas returning from injury in 2025, there's a chance that what's been a weakness in recent years could quickly become a strength.

In fact, and according to a recent NFL.com breakdown of every team's most underappreciated player, Eluemunor took the title for the Giants.

"A versatile offensive lineman who began his NFL career at guard, Eluemunor started last season as New York’s right tackle, but injuries eventually forced him over to the blind side," NFL.com's Gennaro Filice wrote. "Starting the final four games of the season at LT, the London native allowed just one sack and two pressures, according to PFF. With Andrew Thomas returning to health, Eluemunor will be back at RT for a contract season in 2025. Although the Giants are his fourth NFL team, the former fifth-round pick could be due for a healthy raise if he continues to thrive. And an influx of loot could come in handy, as the big man has an eye for style."

Eluemunor was a jack of all trades for New York last season, logging 610 snaps at right tackle and 313 at left tackle (after Thomas went down.) He's proven to be worth every bit of the two-year, $14 million deal he signed last offseason. Now entering a contract year, Eluemunor will be a top priority for the Giants to re-sign, making him no longer an underappreciated (and underpaid) starting offensive tackle.
