Puka Nacua has made headlines all week long. The LA Rams wide receiver caused a stir after he promised to use an antisemitic touchdown celebration during an appearance on Adin Ross and N3on's stream.

Nacua apologized for the promise and the gesture, but that wasn't the only moment that put him under the spotlight. He also called the Jacksonville Jaguars the most overrated team in the NFL and expressed his opinion on referees.

The league fined Puka Nacua $25,000 for his comments, insider Mike Garafolo reported on Friday.

Many fans reacted to the decision, calling out the league on social media.

"The concept of fining players for having valid criticism about the refs but never holding refs accountable for being s**t at their jobs," one fan said.

"A $25K regulatory fine for pointing out a structural defect in the product. The NFL hates independent auditors. Nacua has to eat this as a non-deductible operating expense. It’s the cost of doing business in a monopoly. Book the loss and focus on the next quarter," another fan said.

"Puka isn’t wrong (NFL). He has every right to express his beliefs as we all do. The refs have been bad for a while, but this year on a different level. It’s sports betting and they’re in on the cut," another fan said.

Others celebrated that Puka Nacua raised his voice against the referees, who have been under scrutiny all season long.

"Good on him for speaking out. They’re just trying to fine players because the NFL wants to hide what’s really going on," one fan said. "Puka said the obvious. Probably the best $25K he's ever spent. As evidenced last night, Puka wasn't wrong," another fan said. "The league is SOFT. Mad cause he’s right and they won’t do anything to hold refs accountable," another fan said.

What did Puka Nacua say about NFL referees?

Puka Nacua had strong words to describe the officials, accusing them of seeking attention with some of their calls instead of letting players dictate how the game develops.

“The refs are the worst," Nacua said, via Adin Ross’ Kick livestream. "These guys are lawyers, they wanna be on TV too, bro. You don’t think he is texting his friends in their group chat like, ‘Yo, you guys saw me do that on Sunday Night Football? That wasn’t P.I., but I called it.’”

Puka Nacua's Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday, dropping to 11-4 with two games left.
