Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson’s wife Katelyn Byrd shared a candid look at life off the ice this weekend with a new vlog on her YouTube channel capturing their day together after Pettersson returned home from the recent Canucks road trip.

Though it was only early November, the couple decided it wasn’t too soon to bring out the holiday spirit. The video began with a cheerful Katelyn declaring:

“Today is going to be a good day. My husband’s home. I’m going to start decorating for Christmas.”

As the vlog continued, Pettersson was seen driving Katelyn to her nail appointment where she planned a wintry blue design to match a dress for her upcoming launch party. During the car ride, the conversation turned emotional as Katelyn reflected on her husband’s recent time away.

When Elias asked how it was without him at home, she said:

“Horrible… Never do that again, please.” “That was my first time staying in Vancouver when you weren’t here,” she admitted.

Pettersson listened with a smile as she explained how difficult it had been without him home.

After the nail appointment, the two returned home and spent the afternoon decorating their house for Christmas even though Elias pointed out that it was only November 7. He playfully questioned whether it was too early but the couple agreed they wanted to celebrate before the Canucks’ packed travel schedule ramped up again in December.

Katelyn showed off candles, ornaments and festive touches around their home, saying she wanted to “add more pizzazz” to their setup. Pettersson, whom she called “Santa’s little elf,” helped out as the pair laughed and set up their Christmas tree.

The vlog closed with the couple heading out for a relaxed lunch date on Pettersson’s day off where Katelyn ordered “lots of pasta” and called herself a “happy girl.”

Elias Pettersson’s wife announced her brand new business venture

Earlier last week, Elias Pettersson’s wife Katelyn Byrd officially announced the launch of her new Swedish-inspired candy business “Swete.”

Katelyn revealed the project in a weekend YouTube vlog titled “New Chapter: I Started a Candy Company | Storytime + Photoshoot.” The video featured behind-the-scenes moments from the brand’s first promotional shoot, including footage of Pettersson driving her to Rogers Arena where she conducted photography for the launch.

In the vlog, Byrd explained that Swete was born from her love for Scandinavian candy culture, something she grew familiar with during her modeling career and repeated trips to Sweden.

“I was traveling all across the world and trying the best candy in Europe. Even the chocolate in the Scandinavian countries and in Switzerland, you can’t even relate it to the chocolate here in North America,” Katelyn said.

She went on to describe how her fascination with Sweden’s “Lördagsgodis” or “Saturday candy” tradition became the foundation for the idea.

“I started bringing some home to my friends and family. And then fast forward, I married a Swedish man. Every time I’d go back to Sweden, we’d have Lördagsgodis,” she said.

She mentioned that her goal is to introduce North Americans to authentic Scandinavian-style candy made with higher ingredient standards and richer flavour quality than typical mass-produced sweets.

“I’ve been working night and day on this for a very long time and we’re so close to launching,” she added.

Katelyn shared that Swete is expected to debut in November beginning with online sales before expanding to local availability.
