Nasa Hataoka shares her thoughts after winning the Toto Japan Classic
Nasa Hataoka joined a press conference after winning the Toto Japan Classic, which concluded last week. Hataoka defeated Yuna Araki to win the tournament in Otsu, Japan, and after the triumph, she said that it was a unique victory for her. She added how the 72-hole event was shortened to 54 holes, and she won the event title through a playoff win. ( via ASAP Sports):
“I would say this was a unique win for me. It was unfortunate that tournament got shortened to 54 holes, but I had the playoff and it and became the par-3 or par-5. (?) That was surprise, but I would say it was unique. Since this August my feeling came back so I was a little bit getting confident. And win in Japan, in front of Japanese fan, I'm so glad to make a win…So, so far I had experience runner-up twice in the past, so my ultimate goal was to win at CME golf Tour Championship, so I'm trying to do my best.” “So it's been three years and a half as you said so it was kind of long drought for me so I had a struggle, but my team and my sponsors, like fans, they're supporting me quite a lot. That's why I could win this tournament this week…So actually I hadn't been able to sink that kind of length for many years, for a long time, so I was really happy to sink that final putt. So it was kind of test for me, but it was -- I was happy to do that.”Last year, Nasa Hataoka didn't play at the Toto Japan Classic. In 2024, the tournament was triumphed by Rio Takeda with 15 under.
