Newly crowned ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Nadaka Yoshinari has been overcome with pride and accomplishment following a history-making victory over Numsurin Chor Ketwina last weekend.
The 24-year-old Japanese superstar defeated Numsurin via unanimous decision at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri last Sunday, Nov. 16 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, and became the promotion’s first-ever atomweight Muay Thai king.
Speaking to the media at the official ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri press conference, Nadaka expressed his gratitude at the achievement.
“ONE Championship gold is not just coveted among strikers, but also MMA fighters and everybody around the world. And to be a part of that elite group has made me very happy. Nadaka has emerged as one of the most talented and dominant Muay Thai fighters in the world today, and it’s hard to imagine anyone even coming close to unseating him from the throne. Nadaka Yoshinari admits it was difficult to stop Numsurin: “He’s so tough”
Nadaka Yoshinari nearly pitched a perfect shutout in his wide unanimous decision victory over Numsurin Chor Ketwina at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri last weekend.
Speaking to ONE Championship, Nadaka thanked the fans and said he really tried to finish his Thai opponent:
“So it was a very tough fight. I really tried to knock him out and get the finish, but Numsurin is so tough. Everybody, please give it up for him as well.”Nadaka added:
