Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nabil Anane is getting more frustrated by the day. That’s because it’s getting harder and harder to find opponents willing to step in the ring with him.

The six-foot-four-inch-tall Algerian-Thai striker is fresh off an impressive featherweight kickboxing debut at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri last Sunday, Nov. 16 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, where he defeated Hiromi Wajima with a dominant performance.

Speaking to veteran reporter Nick Atkin backstage after the fight, Anane sent out a warning to any fighter trying to avoid him:

“I'll have more, even more experience, and it will be even harder for my opponents. If they wait for a long time, it will be harder for them, you know. So now I'm just starting. I'm in the beginning. If they don't want to lose, if they want to have more chances, it's now, man. If they let me have a lot of experience, that's hard for them. So that's what I want to say.”

That being said, Anane is willing to go back to kickboxing before he gets his shot at Jonathan Haggerty for the bantamweight kickboxing gold:

"Even though in the next fight I have to fight again in kickboxing before I have a fight against [Haggerty], it's okay, man.”

Nabil Anane relieved to get the victory over Hiromi Wajima at ONE 173: “I don't know if it was a good performance”

Despite putting together a dominant showing, Nabil Anane wasn’t particularly happy with how he fought and thought he could do better. The Algerian-Thai star scored a unanimous decision victory over ONE Championship debutant Hiromi Wajima at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on Nov. 16.

He told Nick Atkin:

“Feeling good, man. I don't know if it was a good performance. Okay. So it went to a decision. So yeah, it was a good thing and I won. Just happy, man.”
