Myles Turner injury update: Pacers center briefly exits with ankle injury in Game 3 vs. Cavaliers

Up 2-0 in the series against the Cavaliers, the Pacers faced an injury scare to one of their most important players.

Late in the third quarter, with Indiana down double-digits, center Myles Turner had to leave the game after appearing to suffer a painful lower leg injury. The veteran is the longest-tenured Pacer and plays a key role for Indiana on both sides of the ball.

While the Pacers are a deep team, losing Turner would be a big loss as their frontcourt depth isn't as strong as their backcourt depth. Especially since Cleveland is known for its size with Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, Turner is one of the x-factors for this series.

Myles Turner injury update

Turner initially appeared to injure his right ankle, which forced him to leave the game and go back to the locker room. However, before that, he was playing with a limp and actually impacted the game while hobbled before a stoppage in play allowed him to sub out.

ESPN's Angel Gray reported that Turner just got his ankle re-taped and was available to return to action. He worked on the stationary bike in the tunnel before going back in, presumably in an attempt to stay loose. The veteran center was able to return to the game in the third quarter, missing just around 2:27 of game time.

Turner is 29 but has been with the Pacers for a decade since Indiana drafted him out of Texas with the 11th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
