Giants’ Jaxson Dart makes bold announcement about his experience with QB competitions

This is unfamiliar territory for Jaxson Dart.

Right from the outset at Friday's Giants rookie minicamp, the quarterback from Ole Miss didn't hide his thoughts.

Dart has never been in a QB room with the likes of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.

I haven’t really sat before,” Dart told reporters on Friday. “I’m a competitor, so I’m going to come to work each and every day and do my best to make everybody around me better. I understand what the situation is, but for me and myself, I care about winning. There’s nothing fun about losing."

The Giants may view this as the perfect setup for Dart.

They traded up to get him at No. 25 overall. Now, he can learn from two guys who have seen it all and done it all in the NFL.

New York doesn't need Dart to be its starter until 2026 at the earliest.

He could still win the job, though, given his immense arm talent and bevy of college experience.

When the veterans eventually join the offseason on-field picture, Dart's arm could look a decent chunk better than Wilson's.

That doesn't mean the rookie should beat out the former Super Bowl champion, but it's not an impossibility.

Dart hasn't been in a position to sit much before. Maybe that'll wind up the case again.
