The controversy over veteran pacer Mohammad Shami's non-selection in the Indian team continues to rage on. After not being picked for the two Tests against West Indies, the Bengal fast bowler was not recalled for the upcoming series against South Africa as well. It is pertinent to note here that the 35-year-old has not played a red ball game for India since 2023.

Both Shami and chief selector Ajit Agarkar have shared their views on the big debate in Indian cricket. While the seasoned fast bowler has hinted at lack of communication from the selectors, Agarkar has maintained that fitness remains the primary concern with the cricketer, as was the case earlier as well. A recent media report has even claimed that an unsure Shami 'skipped' the England tour.
