We’ve nailed seven of our last eight player prop picks, including multiple plus-money wagers. We’ll look to keep the momentum going on Thursday, as we narrow down the best picks for the abbreviated nine-game slate.
If there’s one player that stands out today, it’s Colorado’s German Marquez, but unfortunately for Rockies fans, it’s for all the wrong reasons.
MLB Player Prop Picks for April 24
German Marquez Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-120 at FanDuel)
Marquez will take the ball for Colorado in the first game of a twin bill versus the Royals. The 30-year-old has been a punching bag for enemy lineups this season, allowing 18 hits and 17 runs in his last 10.1 innings alone.
The right-hander is yielding a .333/.413/.515 slash line so far in 2025, while producing a 6.1 K/9rate, the lowest of his career. His lack of strikeout production doesn’t appear to be a fluke, as his fastball velocity is down this season, and he’s generating a 3% lower swing and miss rate than in 2024. His swing and miss + called strike rate is barely over 21% this year, which is 7% worse than his career average.
At the same time, opponents are making hard contact at a 42.9% clip, up nearly 20% from a season ago. Now he faces a KC team that doesn’t strike out. The Royals have whiffed at MLB’s lowest rate so far.
Marquez has failed to exceed 3.5 K’s in three of four outings this season, and we’ll be betting he does so again today.
Brice Turang Over 1.5 Hits, Runs, and RBI (-130 at Bet365)
Our next selection is over 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI for Milwaukee’s Brice Turang. The 25-year-old is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, batting .407 over the last week. Turant has scored seven times during that stretch, tied for the third most in the Majors, and is fresh off consecutive 3+ hitoutings.
He’s got seven hits in his last nine at-bats, while his .350 average is tied for fifth in MLB.
As the Brewers leadoff man, his at-bats projection is higher than any other Milwaukee hitter, and the matchup against the Giants is favorable.
San Fran starter Landen Roupp has allowed three home runs and 11 hits in his last two starts, while Giants relievers have an ERA of almost 5.00 over the last seven days.
Ryan McMahon Under 0.5 Hits (+110 at DraftKings)
From one of the hottest hitters in baseball to one of the coldest, we’re betting under 0.5 hits for Colorado’s Ryan McMahon at plus-money odds.
McMahon has been a disaster this season at the dish. He has twice as many strikeouts (35) as hits (15), and has now gone three straight games without a hit.
Over the last week, McMahon is 2-for-17, with 12 strikeouts. Life won’t get any easier today, as he’ll face KC’s Cole Ragans, the team leader in K’s. Ragans has double-digit strikeouts in three of his last four starts, holding the opposition to five hits or fewer three times.
McMahon has squared off against Ragans four times in his career, going 0-for-4.
