Porter Jr. has 18 assists, which, despite being just 3.0 assists per game, is enough to lead the team in total assists so far.

Nic Claxton and Cam Thomas are two surprising players who follow Porter Jr. on this total assists list, each with 17 assists of their own this season.

This isn't an impressive mark by any means, but it's not common to see Porter Jr. leading a stat category in an area that he's been scrutinized for not doing enough in his whole career.

His previous career high was last season, when he averaged 2.1 assists

Porter Jr. is in his first season with the Nets, as he was traded to Brooklyn this past offseason in a trade that sent Cam Johnson to the Nuggets.

The Nets might already be on their way to having another high lottery pick in next year's draft, as they are one of two teams to still be winless (Nets and Pelicans are 0-6).
