North Carolina guard Luka Bogavac was cleared to play less than an hour before tipoff and made an immediate impact in his Tar Heels debut Monday night in a 94-54 win over Central Arkansas.

The 22-year-old from Montenegro had been awaiting resolution on a school-level eligibility issue despite being cleared by the NCAA earlier this fall. The university announced shortly before the game that he was eligible to compete.

Bogavac finished with 10 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals. The top 10 incoming international players for the 2025–26 season will be one to watch in Chapel Hill. The perimeter threat previously played 55 games over two seasons in the Adriatic Basketball Association, making multiple 3-pointers in more than half of his contests last year.

Caleb Wilson scored 22 points and Kyan Evans added 15 for the Tar Heels, who won their opener for the 21st straight season.

North Carolina hosts No. 19 Kansas on Friday night.
