The NBA Insider added that Dumont's trust in Harrison had detoriarated so much that the owner was now involved in monitaring the injury status of one of their star players.
"One of the opinions that was involved here was that of Patrick Dumont. [He] went from blind faith in Nico to now weighing in on whether a star can come back from injury."Last season, Nico Harrison trade away Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis and said that defense won championship. Despite bringing in an injury prone Davis in exchange for their franchise player, Patrick Dumont had shown his trust in Harrison. Now that Davis is out with injury once again at the start of the season, things are falling apart.
Dallas Mavericks are falling apart just a year after Nico Harrison traded Luka Doncic
When Nico Harrison decided to trade Luka Doncic, he was planning for a championship team. But less than a year later, the Mavericks are gasping for wins as they slid to the bottom of the Western Conference.
After 10 games, the Mavericks have the 14th seed in the West with a poor 3-7 record. They are only ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans who have just one less win than the Mavericks.
To Nico Harrison's credit, the Mavericks have the 4th best defensive rating in league. However, they are nowwhere near to having a chance to fight for the title with being second last in the offensive ratings.
Bad luck has also hit the team since Luka Doncic trade. Kyrie Irving tore his ACL and now Anthony Davis has missed the last five games with his injury. In short, the Mavs have this season let it out of their hands, and Harrison is on target.
