AEW star Jon Moxley defied the odds when he conquered everyone and captured the Continental Championship at Worlds End. Fans, who hated the One True King, during the start of the Continental Classic tournament, cheered for him when he emerged victorious. However, they are now waiting to see when the Death Riders betray their leader.
After the former AEW World Champion lost multiple matches, many believed that the faction might turn on him then. Many also speculated that the Death Riders might take the One True King down after being jealous at Worlds End. However, things remain calm within the group.
While speaking on Self Made Pro, it was reported that AEW isn't looking to have a 'conventional' angle that fans are expecting, where the Death Riders betray and decimate Jon Moxley.
"There are increasing voices in AEW that are of the belief that Jon Moxley is not planning that kind of conventional stable break-up. It’s unconfirmed on the AEW creative side that this is the case, but there are voices within the promotion that I’ve heard from that again, they are of the belief that it’s not going to play out in the way that the fans exac tly expect, in the sense that they turn heel on Jon and take Jon out," the report said.Tony Khan talks highly of Jon Moxley
In 2025, the Purveyor of Violence has had multiple ups and downs. After being the world champion in the first half, he had to face many defeats in the second half of the year.
While speaking on the Takedown, Tony Khan said Jon Moxley wasn't fully healthy at the start of the year but still wrestled and got better with time.
"Jon was pretty hurt at the start of the year. He was banged up, and he worked his way back in without ever taking time off. He's been here all year, and he actually got healthier wrestling every week. The man's a marvel," he said.It will be interesting to see how long he holds the Continental Championship.
