Masaaki Noiri breaks down Superbon’s strengths ahead of unification bout: “I think he’s a well-rounded, top-tier fighter”

Former multi-time K-1 titleholder and now ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion Masaaki Noiri of Japan is getting ready to face the stiffest test of his career when he steps inside the Circle to face a Thai icon.

Noiri will battle divisional king Superbon to unify the ONE featherweight kickboxing world championship in the main event of ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, which will go down live on Sunday, November 16, from the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Noiri talked about Superbon and gave his thoughts on the Thai superstar.

He told the world’s largest martial arts organization:

“Beyond that, I think he’s a fighter with tremendous control over the pace of the fight. [Our fight] is in the [Circle], and it’s a five-round fight. He has a lot of experience fighting under those rules. He has finishing power, and he can also win decisively by decision. I think he’s a well-rounded, top-tier fighter who is very versatile.”

Noiri captured the interim featherweight gold with a third-round technical knockout victory over Tawanchai PK Saenchai at ONE 172 in March.

Masaaki Noiri is entering his showdown with Superbon for the undisputed ONE featherweight kickboxing world title full of confidence. The two meet in the Circle at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri on November 16.

Noiri told ONE Championship he will be looking to finish the Thai icon inside the distance. He said:

“Whether it be the main match or not, I don’t think about it when I’m fighting. However, I think there are certain expectations placed on me, and I could promise you that it will end in a knockout, and I imagine myself wearing the belt after the match.”
