Marathon Sunday ahead as England's Penge co-leads British Masters

Marco Penge holds a share of the lead heading into marathon final day at the weather-affected Husqvarna British Masters, with Tom McKibbin heading the chasing pack.

Penge was one under after five holes of his third round at The Belfry when play was suspended at 7.56pm due to darkness, following multiple weather delays over the first three days.

The halfway leader sits on 11 under alongside Daniel Hillier, who has also played five holes, with McKibbin - only playing due to the cancellation of LIV Golf's Team Championship - a shot back after two birdies in his opening six holes.

Fabrizio Zanotti and Shaun Norris both sit two back with 12 and 13 holes of their third rounds to complete respectively, with Jacob Skov Olesen jumping within three of the lead after three birdies in his first seven holes.

Just five strokes separate 19 players heading into Sunday, where play will resume at 7am local time. There will be no redraw ahead of the final round, which will also be played in threeballs and under a two-tee start.

Long Sunday ahead at The Belfry

Penge will return on Sunday morning facing a 25-foot birdie putt at the sixth, with Hillier around 10 feet closer after both players elected against putting when the play was suspended.

The pair both completed their final four holes of round two early on Saturday morning, with Penge dropping a shot to set the clubhouse target at 10 under and Hillier getting home in level par.

That gave Penge - a three-time DP World Tour winner in 2025 - a one-shot lead after 36 holes, with Hillier a shot back in his pursuit his second British Masters win in four years.

"It was a bit of a pretty typical me to have a roller-coaster round," Penge said after his second round. "Luckily this one [round two] was on the right side of par.

The pair didn't begin their third round until 6.31pm and Penge's one-shot halfway lead was quickly doubled with a 20-foot birdie at the first, only for him to fail to get up and down to save par at the next.

Hillier moved ahead by birdieing the same hole and two-putting to add another at the par-five next, where Penge saved par after finding the water, before the Englishman levelled again with a tap-in of his own at the fourth.

Norris was the remaining member of that group and he picked up a shot after a smart approach to the second and he will return to the rough at the sixth on Sunday morning.

Harry Hall heads into the final day on five under and Matt Wallace is a further shot behind, while compatriot Tyrrell Hatton is one under for the round and three under for the week with six holes to play.
