Manchester United and Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of Belgian youngster Konstantinos Karetsas, who is also a target for Chelsea, as per reports.
Currently playing for KRC Genk, Karetsas has emerged as one of the most promising talents in European football, with his performances piquing attention from some of the game’s biggest clubs. The 18-year-old is renowned for his strong passing, creativity, vision, and dribbling and has become a central figure in Genk’s attacking play.
According to Caught Offside, Manchester United and Arsenal have intensified their push for Karetsas by sending scouts to Genk matches regularly to assess his consistency and reliability.
Arsenal, in particular, have been closely monitoring the Karetsas’ progress and were reportedly close to finalizing a transfer worth around £38 million for the player in the summer. Similarly, the Red Devils have been keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.
While Manchester United and Arsenal are said to be in the running for Karetsas, Chelsea have reportedly gone a step further, already making contacts with the Belgium international’s representatives as they are keen to snap him up as part of their long-term youth-focused strategy. Like their Premier League rivals, the Blues had also reportedly sent scouts to watch Karetsas in action earlier this year.
However, the interest for Karetsas is not only from Premier League sides. There is also interest from Germany and Italy, with clubs like Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Napoli also showing interest in the player. Liverpool, Everton, and Newcastle United complete the English contingents who are reportedly in the running for Karetsas.
