Made in Korea released episodes 1 and 2 on December 24 on Disney+ and Hulu. The next batch of episodes, 3 and 4, is set to release on December 31 at 4 pm KST. Set in the 1970s, the series follows a growing power clash between Baek Gi-tae and Jang Gun-yeong.
Gi-tae is driven by ambition and hunger for control. Meanwhile, Gun-yeong stands on the opposite side. He is a prosecutor with sharp instincts and relentless resolve. A major incident forces Jang into action as he commits fully to stopping Gi-tae.
What's ahead in episodes 3 & 4 of Made in Korea?
Episodes 3 and 4 of Made in Korea are expected to push the story deeper into open conflict. With Man-jae gone, the power vacuum will reshape the drug network. Kang Dae-il is likely to step forward as the new front leader, backed quietly by Gi-tae. The business will not slow down. Instead, it will expand with more secrecy and tighter control.
Gi-tae’s role inside the KCIA should grow more dangerous as he balances state power with criminal profit. His alliances may widen, pulling in higher-ranking officials and foreign connections. On the other side, Geon-young is no longer chasing shadows. After discovering the bugs and sensing Gi-tae’s involvement, his investigation should turn sharper and more personal.
Expect bolder moves from the prosecutor’s office, even as pressure mounts to shut the case down. Ye-jin’s role may increase as she becomes more involved in field work, while Yu-ji’s political influence is likely to surface more clearly. Episodes 3 and 4 should focus on escalation. And a rivalry that begins to spill into public view, setting the stage for a full-scale power war.
Made in Korea episode 1 & 2 brief recap
Made in Korea (Image via X/@DisneyPlusKR)Made in Korea starts with a Japanese plane hijacked by fake revolutionaries. Kenji, a calm and clever man on board, manipulates everyone using lies and a drug-filled briefcase. South Korea secretly tricks the plane into landing in Seoul, then sends it to North Korea to serve its own political goals.
By the end of the episode, everyone survives, and new airport security rules begin. The big twist is also revealed. Kenji is actually Baek Gi-tae, a powerful Korean intelligence officer secretly running drug deals. In episode 2, prosecutor Geon-young investigates a murder tied to meth trafficking.
He sets a trap to catch the drug gang but gets blocked by intelligence officers. Gi-tae is exposed as working with the gang from the inside. The gang leader is killed, a new one is protected, and the drug business continues. Geon-young realizes the system is corrupt and prepares to fight Gi-tae head-on.
Made in Korea has already been renewed for a second season. This means the overall story will continue beyond these initial six episodes in the second half of 2026.
