Team India and Mumbai cricketer Rohit Sharma's reaction went viral to a fan's question while fielding during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday, December 24. In a video that surfaced on social media, a fan asked the former India captain if he wanted to eat a vada pav, a Maharashtrian snack. Rohit refused with a hand gesture.
Having returned to the Vijay Hazare Trophy after seven years, the 38-year-old roared with a blistering hundred against Sikkim. Approximately 10,000 fans came to watch the fixture due to the star batter's rare domestic appearance.
In the video uploaded on social media, a fan asked the veteran cricketer:
"Rohit bhai vada pav khaaoge kya?" (Rohit bhai, will you have vada pav?)He responded by waving his hand to say no.
Having improved his fitness drastically over the last few months, the Nagpur-born cricketer has been in the form of his life. The No. 1-ranked ICC ODI batter is seemingly targeting the 2027 World Cup to lift the coveted trophy after narrowly missing out in 2023 as captain.

Mumbai barely broke a sweat in chasing down 237, needing only 30.3 overs to gun down the target. The opening stand of 141 between Rohit and youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi (38) set things up for Mumbai. The former Indian captain reached his three-figure score in 62 balls to deflate Sikkim and was dismissed for 155 by Kranthi Kumar. Sarfaraz Khan (8*) and Musheer Khan (27*) completed the run-chase.
Earlier, Sikkim won the toss and opted to bat first. Ashish Thapa top-scored for them with 79, while Kranthi (34), K Sai Satwik (34), and Robin Limboo (31) chipped in with some contributions. However, Sikkim's total proved way below par.
Captain Shardul Thakur starred for Mumbai with the ball, bagging figures of 6-0-19-2.
