LOOK: Stamp Fairtex wishes Tawanchai well after latter’s injury TKO loss to Liu Mengyang

Former ONE atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex knows what it’s like to deal with a career-threatening injury.

As such, the 28-year-old superstar expressed concern for his fellow Thai superstar Tawanchai PK Saenchai in the aftermath of ONE Friday Fights 137 on Dec. 19 at Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium.

On that night, Tawanchai suffered what appeared to be a serious leg injury after absorbing a kick from opponent ‘Spirit Dragon’ Liu Mengyang.

The match was immediately stopped after the 26-year-old could not continue, resulting in a first-round TKO victory for the Chinese striker.

The entire arena fell silent as Tawanchai was stretchered out after the stunning turn of events.

Among those who sent their well wishes to Tawanchai was his good friend Stamp.

ONE Championship’s only fighter to win world titles in MMA, Muay Thai, and kickboxing, posted a photo of herself with Tawanchai on social media, along with a message of support.

“Hope you getting better soon and come back stronger.”

Stamp understands the harrowing ordeal that a leg injury can cause to a professional fighter. The Fairtex Training Center affiliate sat out for almost two years due to a torn meniscus, but is now back to full health.

Tawanchai vows to return after successful surgery

Tawanchai PK Saenchai underwent a successful surgery for his leg injury and remains in good spirits while recovering in the hospital.

His wife, Sawita Yingchuan, shared the positive development in a Facebook post, along with a possible timeline for the Thai superstar's return to the ring:

“The surgery went well, and everything was successful. The doctors are not allowing me to go home yet – I need to stay another two days. I will be able to fight again. I just need to wait for my body to recover to 100 percent – at least seven months, but no more than 12 months.”
