Liverpool will seek to build bridges with their Anfield public as they seek a Champions League comeback against Galatasaray.

Last week's 1-0 defeat in Istanbul left Arne Slot's side needing the sort of rousing European night that has almost become a cliché on Merseyside.

But the Reds have only won one of their past four games in all competitions and were booed on their own ground after Sunday's wretched 1-1 draw against Tottenham.

Galatasaray also beat the reigning Premier League champions during this season's league phase but almost threw away a handsome 5-2 first-leg advantage against Juventus in the playoff round, eventually prevailing in extra time against 10 men in Turin.
