The Detroit Lions have Aidan Hutchinson, which is a great start to a pass rush. But it feels like every time their team needs come up, it's pointed out that they need a worthy partner for Hutchinson.
Clearly, they haven't solved that, because it keeps getting brought up. Luckily for them, there might still be a free agent out there who fits.
Long-time Los Angeles Chargers star Joey Bosa remains available. He spent the 2025 season with the Buffalo Bills, where he made a solid impact.
Now, NFL.com's Nick Shook writes that Bosa's best fit in free agency is the Lions.
"The Lions could use multiple additions at edge opposite Aidan Hutchinson and should take such an approach as long as it's affordable," writes Shook. "That's a big qualifier when speaking of Bosa, a former first-rounder who made $13.2 million in 2025 and contributed respectably before his performance tailed off significantly down the stretch, potentially decreasing his earning power in 2026."

Despite potential cost concerns, the Lions need to consider Bosa.
"At 30 years old, Bosa is firmly in veteran mercenary territory," Shook writes. "Despite proving his injury history wasn't a defining trait in the last two seasons, it's a concern that will probably always follow him, but if he's willing to take slightly less than what his representation believes he's worth, he could find an excellent opportunity with the Lions. Bosa wouldn't see much extra attention because of Hutchinson's presence on the other side of the defensive front, and with Detroit adding productive veteran D.J. Wonnum on Tuesday, it might not be too taxing on the former No. 3 overall pick, either."
The Bills did a solid job of keeping Bosa on a sort of pitch count in order to preserve his health. Detroit would surely do something similar.
Hutchinson would likely just be happy to know there's a talented pass rusher on the other side from him. It may not take too much attention away from Hutchinson, but it'd definitely help the Detroit defense as a whole.
