The Detroit Lions will be one of the most intimidating teams in the NFL in 2025, and a surefire Super Bowl contender.
But their opponents have a new reason to fear the Lions just a little bit more now, too.
Penei Sewell, listed at 6-foot-5 and 335 pounds, is already one of the league's most fearsome offensive lineman. He's such a good athlete that the Lions threw a touchdown pass to him, only for it to be overturned by an ineligible man downfield penalty.
Sewell told reporters that he's even bigger and stronger heading into the 2025 season.
“I just wanted to get bigger and stronger, while maintaining my speed and conditioning,” Sewell said.

He stayed in Detroit for most of the offseason.
“I just stayed here in Michigan working with the strength staff, it’s just moving big weight fast, always trying to up the weight,” Sewell said. “Obviously, you got to be smart with it. There’s also some risk going into lifting those types of weights, but I just leaned on the guys here, the strength staff, they do a great job. It’s just moving the heavy weights fast.”

Sewell is just 24 years old and already about as much of a superstar as an offensive lineman can be.
He isn't content with what he's done, though. Sewell has taken the steps he's needed to get even better.
The guys who line up opposite him in 2025 could be in trouble.
