Comeback queen Lindsey Vonn scorches on the cover of the new Vanity Fair magazine, showing off her injured leg — surgery scars and all — in a stunning dress with a sky-high slit.

She’s barefoot and glowing under a neutral makeup palate.

“In her first interview since Milano Cortina, @lindseyvonn speaks at length about her horrifying crash, the five surgeries and paparazzi frenzies that followed, and whether this is really, truly the end of her career as a professional skier,” the esteemed magazine captioned its Thursday, March 26 share of its cover.

The outlet then reviewed the skiing phenom’s comeback in the downhill standings, just to tear her ACL nine days before the Winter Games.

“Everyone thought she was finished—except Vonn,” it continued. “She came back again.”

The three-time Olympic medalist then of course crashed just 13 seconds into her first run. “She crashed into a gate and her skis failed to pop off,” writes Vanity Fair. “They twisted and warped her body like a corkscrew as she hurtled down the hill. When she finally skidded to a halt, the world heard her screams. They pierced the air with such force that they were picked up by the NBC broadcast. She’d shattered her tibia, fibula, and ankle. What came next was more harrowing still.”

Vonn, 41, rejoined U.S. Ski Team for the 2024-2025 season, after retiring due to injury in 2019.
