"Like Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso did" - Red Sox loyalist makes bold call on Kyle Tucker's next chapter

Kyle Tucker enjoyed a strong 2025 season. Batting .266 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs, the outfielder played a starring role in helping the Chicago Cubs qualify for the playoffs.

As he became a free agent once the campaign concluded, Tucker was expected to be one of the most sought-after players on the market. Many were of the opinion he may land a bumper long-term deal exceeding $400 million in value.

However, such an offer has not materialized yet. According to analyst and content creator Robbie Hyde, Tucker may end up signing with the LA Dodgers, following in the footsteps of Alex Bregman and Pete Alonso by settling for a more short-term contract than initially expected.

"I say Kyle Tucker ends up with the Dodgers," Hyde said (Timestamp: 14:20). "His market hasn't really materialized the way he wanted, with the only other team out there seeming to make a strong push being the Blue Jays. I'm sure Toronto will be aggressive, but I say in the end that they're not going to go the lengths that he's expecting. I say he takes a short deal with the Dodgers. We saw it last year, with Alex Bregman going to the Red Sox, Pete Alonso taking the short deal with the Mets. "With Tucker, I don't think that's going to hurt him in the long run. I say a high AAV deal, he'll be okay with. He can go to the Dodgers on say, a three-year deal with an opt out. What's cool about that, is he can help the Dodgers try and get that three-peat. I think there's some intrigue there. Help the Dodgers win the World Series, go back out to the market next year, like Bregman and Alonso did, and go get your long-term deal then."

"He does so many things well" - Reds Hall of Famer explains why Kyle Tucker deserves a huge contract

On Dec. 10's episode of "MLB Tonight," Cincinnati Reds legend Sean Casey explained why he feels Kyle Tucker deserves a bumper contract.

"If I am a club, and I am looking for a guy to build around, that has great swing decisions, he's a five-tool player, he hits for damage, he does so many things well... Kyle Tucker is the guy that I would bring in for that long-term deal, and I would pay him over $400M," Casey said (Timestamp: 02:01).
