Paige Bueckers is glad to be back with Team USA

It's been a while since Paige Bueckers was with Team USA. The last time that she was with the national team was in 2019, for the World Beach Games in Doha, Qatar. In that tournament, the Americans finished in fifth place.

Now, she's back with Team USA for the senior national team camp. During her time with the media, Bueckers shared her thoughts on what her experience is like.

“It’s pretty surreal,” Bueckers said. “I haven’t done anything USA Basketball since like 2019, and that feels like ages ago now. But to be back here, representing my country in a way where this is every kid’s dream — to be able to do that at the highest level on the national team and to get that invite — it meant a whole lot. It’s truly an honor.”

Bueckers also spoke highly of having most of her competitors in the same team. Aside from the Wings star, some of the players the camp featured are Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young.

“There are so many great players here and the coaching staff as well,” she said. To be able to be here, build relationships, compete — I think that’s the highest form of respect, is to compete.”

Aside from the veterans, Buekcers was with her fellow youngsters, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. The young trio could headline the national team roster for the 2026 LA Olympics. All three players have had prior experience representing Team USA. But they haven't had the chance to play in the Olympic tournament.

Paige Bueckers has started to get herself familiar with her future national team co-stars.
