There are now two major veteran names who advanced in the "Last Time is Now" tournament to determine John Cena's final opponent. It was a legend who dethroned Cena 16 years ago to advance in the tournament.
While Rusev defeated Damian Priest to become the first man to advance in the Last Time is Now tournament, there was another huge match on RAW. Sheamus, the man who shockingly dethroned John Cena to win the WWE title 16 years ago, faced Shinsuke Nakamura - a man who beat Cena in a dream match on SmackDown in 2017.
Both veterans would have an absolute banger, but in the end, it was Sheamus who picked up the victory. Even a year-and-a-half ago on RAW, Sheamus defeated Nakamura before the latter went on a hiatus. So Sheamus and Rusev are now the next names to advance.
This coming week on SmackDown, we will see two huge matches. Jey Uso will face The Miz, while LA Knight is set to take on a mystery name that Nick Aldis didn't want to reveal.
Something similar happened on RAW as Adam Pearce would announce a blockbuster match between NXT's Je'Von Evans and the returning Gunther, who many believe will win the tournament. The second match will be Solo Sikoa against a mystery opponent, who we will only find out about when Sikoa is in the ring.
Things are going to get really interesting as John Cena is now also the Intercontinental Champion, meaning that for his last match, the IC Title is very likely going to be put on the line.
