Lawrence's 50 lifts England to healthy lead vs Pakistan at rainy Lord's

England advanced to a healthy 357-run lead over Pakistan on a frustrating rain-affected third day of the second Test at Lord's, as Dan Lawrence (50no) brought up his fifth Test half-century.

Lawrence battled hard to acclimatise to the uneven bounce on the Lord's pitch, but would surge to a superb 64-ball half-ton, and lead England to a score of 177-7 at stumps.

Intermittent showers delayed proceedings for almost three-and-a-half hours on Saturday morning, with Emilio Gay and Harry Brook eventually heading out to bat at 2.20pm.

But England's batters struggled to cope with the uneven bounce of the Lord's wicket.

Two overs were bowled before Gay (31) was removed by Mohammad Abbas, who later snared both Brook (34) and Jamie Smith (7), before Mohammad Ali got Gus Atkinson (7) lbw.

Play was suspended just after 5pm due to rain, and was later abandoned at 6.32pm due to bad light.
