Laurie Canter earned his PGA Tour card last week after a stint at LIV Golf. However, recent reports claim that the professional golfer is expected to return to the Saudi-based league for the next season.

Sports Business Journal's Josh Carpenter issued an initial report on the matter after speaking with multiple sources who knew of the matter. The 36-year-old golfer spent three years on LIV Golf as a reserve player and a member of the Cleeks GC, which is captained by Martin Kaymer.

However, the dream of playing on the PGA Tour for Laurie Canter was sparked at the Players Championship this year. He was allowed to play in the prestigious tournament as he did not compete in any LIV Golf-sanctioned event for a year leading up to it.

Last week, the Englishman earned his PGA Tour card for the first time in his career by finishing in the top ten DP World Tour Race to Dubai rankings. With both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf's seasons wrapped up, Josh Carpenter stated that while the chance of Canter returning to the latter is very possible, it is unclear what team he would play for. There are many spots open in teams for the 2026 season, with several big names like Henrik Stenson and Andy Ogletree being relegated.

How many wins does Laurie Canter have?

Laurie Canter turned professional in 2011 after an illustrious career as an amateur golfer that was highlighted by a victory at the Spanish Amateur Open Championship. Having joined LIV Golf in 2022, he picked up no victories as a wild card player and as a key member of The Cleeks GC.

Determined to get to the top of his field, he began competing in more DP World Tour (formerly known as European Tour) events in 2024 compared to the previous year.

In 2024, he posted his first finish of the calendar year inside the top ten at the Soudal Open in May. He tied for seventh place with scores of 69, 67, 66, and 67, totalling to 15 under par 269.

The next week, Laurie Canter won his very first tournament at the European Open. He bagged the victory with scores of 68, 66, 73, and 72, which totalled to 13 under par 279. He earned 500 Race to Dubai points and a massive paycheck worth €392,765.45.

The Englishman's second and latest victory came this year in February. Canter posted scores of 68, 69, 68, and 69 to win the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship with a 14 under par 274 score. He earned 585 Race to Dubai points and €408,869.12. He achieved the feat after a solo third-place finish at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic a few weeks earlier.
