It seemed like this was happening last week.
The Baltimore Ravens had listed Lamar Jackson as a full practice participant on Friday leading into Week 8. His comeback was imminent.
But then on Saturday, they changed that designation to limited and listed Jackson as out for the Chicago Bears game.
That led to a Tyler Huntley start, and a key win, to improve to 2-5.

Now, the Jackson news seems to be legitimately good, and real, and not a false alarm.
Jackson has been a full participant in practice all week leading into Thursday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins to open Week 9.
He said himself he's 100%, and he has no injury designation for Thursday's game.
This time, for real, Jackson will be back.

He hurt his hamstring in Week 4 against the Chiefs and missed most of the second half of that game. He then didn't practice for 24 days.
The Ravens lost two games with Cooper Rush as starting QB, combining for a total of 13 points across those two contests. They also mercifully had a bye mixed in there.
Then it was Huntley getting the start in a key change in Week 8, and that worked out nicely with a win.
Now, Baltimore can try to go on a run with its two-time MVP back on the field. It's for real this time.
