The Philadelphia Phillies could not get much going when the season first started. They fell to a 9-19 record before the front office decided it was time to part ways with manager Rob Thomson on April 28.
The club has gone with bench coach Don Mattingly as the interim manager, and he has tons of managerial experience. Since taking over, the team has totally transformed, going 12-5.
It's not just the managerial change that has turned this team around. They are finally getting some life from their key contributors like Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper.

Kyle Schwarber is not the only Phillies slugger crashing the hitter rankings
After going on a tear last season, Schwarber is back to doing Schwarber things. In his last five games, he has clobbered five home runs, one being a two-homer day against the Colorado Rockies on Mother's Day.
But he is not the only one who is getting back to turning heads at the plate. Bryce Harper has also been on a hot streak as of late, helping the Phillies turn their season around.
Two weeks ago, he was not ranked, but he joins Kyle Schwarber, who sits No. 3, while Harper finds himself ranked No. 8 according to MLB.com's latest power hitter rankings.
"Over that same 15-game span, Harper has four home runs, a .390 OBP and a .600 slugging percentage. He's not making hard contact as often as in years past, but his strikeout rate is at a career-low 16.1% and his barrel rate remains a strong 14.6%. Harper is especially crushing breaking pitches."
Harper has 10 home runs to his name already, and is on pace to only be a few short of the career-high of 42 that he hit in 2015. If he can stay healthy, this could be one of the better seasons we have seen from the veteran over the last few years.
